Revd Johnston McKay was born and brought up in Glasgow, educated at the High School of Glasgow (in the days before it went independent!) and the University of Glasgow (honours in Politics and Modern History) and St John's College Cambridge (1st Honours, Theology). Assistant minister, St Giles Cathedral and then minister of Bellahouston Styeven Parish in Glasgow and Paisley Abbey. In 1987 joined BBC Religious Broadcasting Department and retired as Editor of Religious Broadcasting July 2002.
