Hilary Young is currently in her second year reading for a PhD in History at the University of Strathclyde. Her thesis is focused on the construction and representation of gender in boys' comics and girl's magazines c. 1945 - 1968. Past research includes an Oral History of Masculinity in Glasgow c. 1945 - 2002.
