Alexander Broadie is Professor of Logic and Rhetoric at the University of Glasgow and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He has published about fifteen books, most of them dealing with the Scottish philosophical tradition from the thirteenth century to the eighteenth.
