The royal party pictured in the Palace of Art, on the occasion of the opening of the Scottish Exhibition in 1911.

From left to right, they are: Archibald Shaw; Andrew H Pettigrew; the Duchess and Duke of Connaught; the Marquis and Marchioness of Tullibardine; the Duchess of Montrose; Thomas Dunlop; James Bell; Patrick Dunn.

Archibald Shaw was Lord Provost, while Thomas Dunlop and James Bell were previous holders of the office. Pettigrew, of the department store Pettigrew & Stephens, was Chairman of the Executive Council. The Marquis of Tullibardine was the Honorary President of the Exhibition, which was opened by the Duke of Connaught.
