Duncan Harkness Weir

Duncan Harkness Weir (d 1876) was Professor of Oriental Languages at the University of Glasgow, 1850-1876, and was Clerk of Senate 1855-1876. He was one of the authors of the Memorials of the Old College of Glasgow, published in 1871.

Weir was born in Greenock and was minister of the Scots Church in Manchester before his appointment to the chair at Glasgow. He was an eminent Hebrew scholar.
