Advertisement in Glasgow University Magazine 24 October 1928 for low-priced frocks for sale at the Royal Polytechnic department store.
The adverts depicts copies of the latest Paris fashions for summer frocks. Although taken from the French fashion houses, the dresses have been given the names of the Scottish resort towns Irvine, Dunoon, Gourock, Rothesay, Largs. These were all places that young women might visit during the summer holiday season, at a time when most people were unable to holiday abroad and the prospect of a day trip or a longer stay at a local seaside resort was anticipated with great excitement.
