Blackfriars Parish Church

Blackfriars Parish Church (also known as the Old College Church) off High Street was built 1699-1701 to replace an earlier building which had been struck by lightning in 1670. This photograph was taken in 1876, shortly before the church was demolished to make way for the City of Glasgow Union Railway's College Station. The congregation moved to a new church in Dennistoun.
