Glasgow Garden Festival

A view of Waves Food Court and Prince’s Harbour at the Glasgow Garden Festival. This photograph was taken a few days before opening day, with work still continuing on the site.

Waves Food Court was one of a number of restaurants on the Festival site. It claimed to have a wide range of choice, from haggis to shark, as well as a local speciality, "fried ice-cream". On-site facilites for food and drink were supplemented by restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood. Pubs found that applications for late licences were treated sympathetically.

Prince’s Harbour was created from the former Prince’s Dock. Visitors could make trips around the harbour in an assortment of craft. At the south end of the site the Laing Homes Marina had a sailing school and a variety of vessels for sale, including luxury yachts.
