The library in Glasgow City Chambers, 1888. The bookcases extend around the walls and are about 11 feet high. The doors and windows are built into the shelves and volumes are even displayed above the fireplace. The carving around the top of the bookcases has been likened to 18th century Chippendale work.
The two scrolls carved into the fireplace read "Knowledge is Power" and "Truth will Prevail".
