Advertisements for Ebenezer Weir, last and boot tree maker and Henry Boyd's Glasgow Whip Manufactory. These adverts appear in the Post Office Glasgow directory of 1843-1844. Weir's products were claimed to be of such a high quality as to "obviate the necessity of Corn Doctors", while there was a great demand in the city from coachmen, carriage owners, cabmen and others for whips with which to drive their horses.
