An advertisement from the Post Office Glasgow Directory of 1847-1848 for William Collins & Co, a letter-press printing and stationery company in North Montrose Street. William Collins Snr (d 1853) took his son (also William, 1817-1895) into partnership in 1848, and William Collins, Sons & Co became one of Scotland's most famous and successful publishers.
