Haghill Primary School

Haghill Primary School on Marwick Street, just to the south of Alexandra Park. This building was designed by A Lindsay Walker and erected in 1902, at a time when the Glasgow School Board was building many new schools in the city.

One notable former pupil of the school was the journalist Jack House. Known as "Mr Glasgow" for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the city, House had his own "Ask Jack" column in the Evening Times, in which he would answer readers' queries about any aspect of the city and its history.

In 2003 a brand new Haghill School is under construction, which will include a community sports facility funded to the tune of £1.15 million by proceeds from the National Lottery.
