School in Carmichael Place in Battlefield, 1970s. The school was designed by McWhannell, Rogerson & Reid and built in 1912. It was known as Queen's Park Junior Secondary until 1959, and then Battlefield Secondary School until it closed in 1966. Langside Nursery School occupies rooms in the building in 2004.
The adjacent building housing Battlefield Public School was designed by Andrew Balfour and built in 1904. It was destroyed by fire in the early 1960s and prefabricated classrooms were subsequently erected on the site. They continue to accommodate Battlefield Primary School in 2004.
Battlefield Primary's most notable former pupil is Meta Ramsay (b 1936) who became a prominent British diplomat and was created Baroness Ramsay of Cartvale in 1996.
