Lament for Hawkie

"Lament for Hawkie", a song preserved in a scrapbook entitled Old Glasgow Street Songs etc, 1850 which is held at the Mitchell Library.

This song was written by Thomas Pollock in memory of William Cameron, alias Hawkie, the famous beggar and street entertainer. "Although he of a leg was lame/His tongue had no defection."
