This location photograph from Jimmy Logan's personal collection shows him with Kenneth Williams in a scene from Carry On Abroad, 1972.
Logan had purchased the New Metropole Theatre in 1964, renamed it Jimmy Logan's Metropole and attempted to establish it as the home of Scottish variety and comedy. The venture failed, the theatre closed in 1972 and the large debts he had accumulated forced Logan to seek more lucrative comedy work. This included acting in two Carry On films (the other was Carry on Girls in 1973).
