Logan and Radcliffe

Jack Radcliffe (left) and Jimmy Logan, two of Glasgow's best loved variety artistes, standing at a bus and tram stop in the early 1960s. Radcliffe and Logan were colleagues in the Five Past Eight Shows at the Alhambra Theatre. These popular variety shows continued throughout the 1950s and 60s.

Jack Radcliffe was one of Logan's boyhood heroes. Logan famously compared many of his heroes to the characters in a pack of cards and considered Harry Lauder to be the Ace and Radcliffe the Jack.
