Sea-Side Entertainers

A postcard showing Lee and Arden's Geisha Entertainers performing at the waterside in Dunoon, 1904.

Lee and Arden were one of many companies which provided entertainment for Glasgow holiday-makers in west coast seaside resorts. In this view, the stage is set up at a motor launch pier by the water's edge. The paddle steamer in the background is carrying passengers "doon the watter" towards the Isle of Bute, the Cumbrae islands and the Ayrshire coast resorts.
