Aircraft construction

Aircraft construction at Coplawhill tram depot during the First World War.

James Dalrymple, the General Manager of the Corporation Tramways, did everything he could to support the war effort. Some of the tramway engineering sections at the Coplawhill tram depot were converted to making munitions, and another part was used to construct aircraft.

These aircraft wings were manufactured for BE 2C aircraft. The factory also produced wings for FE 2b planes.
