Queen's Park on a winter day, photographed by Duncan Brown in the 1880s or 1890s. The view is along one of the paths, where two women are sitting on a bench and talking to a friend who has stopped to chat.
The spire of the Crosshill Queen's Park Church is visible in the distance, beyond the trees. To the right are the steps which connect the formal terrace gardens to the grand avenue, lined with chestnut trees, which runs through the park from its Victoria Road entrance.
Duncan Brown (1819-1897) was a talented amateur photographer whose work documents aspects of Glasgow life from the 1850s until the 1890s.
