A portrait of Lady Frances Maxwell (d 1818) by an unknown artist.
Lady Frances was the second daughter of Robert Colquhoun of St Christopher's. She married Sir James Maxwell (d 1785), 6th Baronet of Nether Pollok, in 1764 and had two sons and two daughters with him. Her husband died in 1785 and she married Sir John Shaw-Stewart (d 1812), 4th Baronet of Greenock and Blackhall in 1789.
