Know Head c 1830.
This landscape shows the view looking north across the White Cart Water and uphill to Knowhead Farm. In the foreground a woman is talking to a soldier. The Burrell Collection was subsequently built next to the farmhouse site, which is now occupied by a building belonging Glasgow City Council's Land Services department.
This is one of a series of watercolours painted by an unknown artist working for the Maxwell family, which depict buildings and landscapes on the Pollok Estate c 1830.
