Looking down a close at 129 Saltmarket, June 1904.
This photograph belonged to Robert Robb, a Property and Insurance Agent with an office at the Trongate, and presumably shows a property that he was involved with. The close is unpaved and the buildings look old and dilapidated, but this was common in the Saltmarket before the wholesale slum clearance work of the City Improvement Trust was completed.
